Personally, i dont think splitting 50-50 is best because there are a whole lot of other factors to be considered. However, I believe doing what works for the family is best, Marriage is too dynamic to be boxed. If families can do 50-50 without tension and with proper understanding that it is going to be all the way that is 50-50 chores, 50-50 child care etc, then go for it!
